St Benedicts Veterinary Hospital appears to offer both routine appointments and out-of-hours help, with multiple reviews describing staff meeting owners at the clinic late at night or on a Sunday during severe weather. Reviews include specific examples of a “wait and see” second opinion (after reviewing prior reports and advising no further treatment for a cat) and urgent assessment/treatment for a dog that became unwell after ingesting sand. Experiences are mixed: several owners describe calm, practical explanations and reasonable pricing, while a couple of reviews describe very negative encounters, including one that simply says “Avoid” and another alleging rude handling during an implant visit.
Google rating: 4.5 stars from 108 reviews.

Kind, knowledgeable, practical, helpful, efficient, and reasonably priced. I called as I wanted a second Vets opinion, I was so glad, he assured me that my cat was not in any danger having looked at the reports and let's wait and see and he was right the cat is fine. No further treatment necessary contrary to what the first opinion was

We are travelling around in Irland and our dog got sick, we had been to the beach and she swallowed a big amount of sand without us noticing, we just find it out later. She started with symptoms late at night and we contacted the clinic. Conor met at past midnight and checked her out properly. He gave her medication and gave us god advice. We are so thankful he met us before last night, she felt much better after and now she is getting back to her normal self.

Rang Benedicts last Sunday as a stray cat I cared for many years got sick so quickly, lady on the phone was so nice and arranged to meet me at the clinic, she ran out in the storm and carried my cat bjx inside. Explained my options, regarding putting PISH to sleep, as she was dying. THE lady was so patient and kind, it was a Sunday and the storm was very bad, also she travelled a good 25 minutes to get to clinic. Think her name was Emer. Highly recommend Benedicts. Thankyou

We went in with milo (Cockapoo) at the start to a lovely lady that made him feel comfortable she was ever so good.. we went in last weeks for implant in milo which is expensive to be treated like dirt .. it was a man that we never dealt with before and was ever so rude… I asked him to fill out the book for the kennels and it was like he was put out of way .. he didn’t tell us how to hold milo just to hold his legs .. but instantly milo was unsettled and nervous.. he pricked milo and he bled no success.. tried again .. then decided to say “I have to put a mussel on ur dog cuz he’ll bite me” now to hear that I was furious milo doesn’t bite never has bitten and would never! This mussel made milo even more uncomfortable and he still couldn’t get the implant in .. he then said “ I’ve to get a nurse to hold him properly “ so at this point we took the mussel off as he left cuz I was not leaving that on .. and the nurse was ever so good she calmed him and was talking to him and he was still ever so rude when we asked about side effects and things to look out for he simply said “ there’s non” but when you look up that implant there’s loads.. this visit has seriously made me what to change vets .. Milo’s only 1 and that was a very bad experience so now I’m unsure how he’ll be in vets again !!!

The most amazing vets. Twice now we have had to use here for an emergency out of hours visit with our dog and both times have had amazing service always quick to respond, so professional and always so lovely to our dog. Very reasonable priced also.
